Mergrande Ocean Resort reopens with more amenities

After close to two years  and two months of closure due to Covid 19 pandemc, Mergrande Ocean Resort finally reopens with new and more amenities every family and kids will enjoy. Mergrande is an 8 hectar resort with 250m of beachfront with 48 cottages, 6 function rooms, a restaurant, a dome for private functions, a pool and huts for picnics. Now as Mergrande reopens for the public, they recently launched their newest addition and attraction for guests- Mergrande Eco Park.

The Mergrande Eco Park was beautifully designed by the wner herself, Mrs Merci Evangelista during the lockdown. For her, it was a truly relaxing and destressing way to go through the long Covid 19 Pandemic.

New Attractions

KOI POND

This used to be filled with Lotus flowers but was of no use. When 

Mrs. Evangelista got interested in Koi fishes, she instantly became a 

breeder. There are 6000 pcs of koi in this 800sq meters pond, with an 

estimated 175,000 liters of free-flowing water. 

BUFFET AREA 

Soon Mergrande will be serving a buffet lunch package for Ecopark 

visitors. And will also be serving snacks and refreshments. Coffee will 

also be available to accompany  visitors.

GAZEBO SWING 

This is the  only one in Davao and is made of hardwood such as 

Yakal and Ironwood. 

AVIARY DOME 

This houses a collection of different parrots suds as Macaw, 

Cockatoo, Ringneck, Eclectus, and Tiel. 

OCTAGON POND 

Here you will find 250 pcs of Oranda gokifish, the one with 

beautiful tails and Ranchu. 

BOUGAINVILLEA GARDEN 

It was in 2019 when Mrs. Evangelista started to collect 

bougainvilleas. She started buying native bougainvilleas wherever she 

can and marcotted them in what used to be an unused lot in Mergrande. 

Her original plan is to sell it because she knows how expensive it is. 

However, when she saw how beautiful it is and realized the hardwork 

she endured; she decided to make it an attraction instead. Aside from 

thad this garden has become her healing companion when her husband 

died last 2019. Now, there are about 1000 pcs of bougainvillea with 

different varieties and colors

CALACHUCHI 

After Mrs Evangelista is done with bougainvillea, she 

moved on to Calachuchi with the same intention of growing a 

beautiful garden full .of Calachuchi flowers, 

BONSAI FRUIT TREES 

This is an educational place where one can learn and see 

what does the tree of their favorite fruit looks like. Strictly no 

picking of fruits. 

PON DARIUM (under construction) 

Pond + Aquarium, cichlids biotope design, the total water 

volume of 14tons
