What's it like to go on a staycation in the new normal at Acacia Hotel Davao

More than two years after the pandemic, I  finally braved the way of planning a hotel staycation for the family. It was a tough decision to make considering the new and strict protocols everyone has to go through during a vacation. But this did not limit our decision and desire to go out for a little while and have a quick  breather. 

As a mom of four, i always take note of  so many things to check how safe my family will be during our quick getaway despite the pandemic. 

So i listed  down 4 THINGS to consider in planning a safe staycation for the family during a pandemic.

Location

It would be safe to find a place near or at least within just the city for a family getaway  to limit the hassles of preparing for documents as some LGUs would require travel documents if you plan to go outside the city.  

Acacia Hotel Davao is situated within Davao City  and is only about 6 kilometers away from our home. the hotel is just a 5-minute (walking distance) from a mall. Acacia Hotel can house a huge number of guests with its 260 luxurious and spacious guests rooms  will definitely be a haven for  guests and tourists coming in the heart of the city. 

Room

First in my checklist in booking for a staycation is the room accommodation. Room for me must be cleaned well and sanitized, relaxing, spacious, fully equipped with  good lighting, wifi and an amazing view from the window. 

For a family of six like ours. the room must be spacious, with comfortable beds and pillows, at least a couch, table or a nook  to work on when work duty calls.  Acacia Hotel Davao did  not disappoint! Check photos below and see why my 24 hour rest and relaxation was a good one. 

Food

As a self confessed foodie, I always look for the best and satisfying food experience everytime I dine. My family had a delightful breakfast buffet at Waling Waling Cafe.  The buffet spread was delish. There was a lot of food choices for breakfast.  The waffles as seen in photo was a standout and an instant favorite!

 Amenities

Business and leisure stay at Acacia Hotels Davao is highly reccommended. It is important that the quality of service and hotel  amenities must be complete thus making every guest's stay a relaxing, safe and memorable one.

WALING WALING CAFE

Waling Waling Cafe at the ground floor is an all day dining restaurant that offers signature cuisines and dishes. 

Operating hours is 6 AM - 9PM.

Breakfast buffet  is available for only p788+ nett per person.

VENADO POOL BAR

The pool side is a perfect spot to chill and relax. A quick dip in this 4-feet deep pool wont hurt your skin if you plunge early in the morning.

 Open from 6AM-9PM

ACACIA FIT

I always make sure I get to work out in evey hotel I stay in my previous staycations. Im bappy that the hotel gym closes at 9pm. Perfect time to work out is before the gym closes (to avoid crowd) or early morning. 

Acacia Fit is located at the 3rd Floor beside the Venado Pool bar. A perfect gym  to work out before you plunge into the pool! 

Acacia fit is opoen for guests and non hotel guests from 6AM-9PM

Membership Fee: P2000//month  (free pool-use) 

LUK FOO PALACE

If you are a sucker for dimsum, come to Luk Foo Palace and satisfy your dimsum cravings in one sitting. They serve high end Cantonese cuisines. 

Luk Foo Palace is located at the 3rd floor of Acacia Hotel Davao 11AM-8PM daily.

LOBBY LOUNGE

A perfect spot to just lounge around with coffee, tea and friends! Open 6AM- 8PM
