Olive Puentespina, the cheesemaker’s life and style

Her cheesemaking story started in Year 2000 with three goats, Marvin, Jolina and Rica, the
onset of Olive’s husband-veterinarian collection of ruminants. The number grew with each farm visit, and grew more as the goats bred. How does one earn from this hobby?

Olive bottled fresh goat’s milk to sell. It didn't click. Goat’s milk soap was out of the question since it used very little milk. How else can milk be preserved, asked the UPLB-graduate who worked at the university’s Dairy Training and Research Institute? Cheese. So started Olive Puentespina’s cheesemaking career.

She took lessons from a colleague, then from two Swiss cheese masters from Pontresina, Master’s classes in San Francisco, and so on. “My cheese journey—getting educated in dairying and cheese making— has brought me to the US, Mongolia, Canada, Switzerland, Italy. And with each travel, I learn more,” she shared.
In 2008, Olive officially started producing cheese under the Malagos Farmhouse brand. Sans advertising an…

Sun Life of Canada (Phils) Inc. started insurance in the Philippines in 1895 and has remained the longest standing life insurance company in the country. Commited to serve and help Filipinos achieve financial freedom. Yet becoming a Sun Life financial advisor promises a very promising career because aside from helping other people, you get to enjoy your own flexible working hours, working space,  travel perks and much more rewarding compensations.

Last March 17, 2018, I was able to attend a Sun Life Live Brighter Forum at the Pinnacle Hotel Davao. I learned that in becoming a customer advocate or an advisor, it basically needs dedication and time in order to deliver and look closely after the needs of clients onto their successful financial journey. Witnessed inspiring stories from Sun Life Advisors and how they started their career. Celebrity advisor Kathleen Hermosa was there and was ready to answer questions in the forum.

Few months after Patok Sa Manok opened and launched its new look and adding up a number of new food in their menu apart from its classic lechon manok and filipino dishes, now comes the Patok Sa Manok bakery. Finally found a haven for tasty breads and cakes. My love for food is endless!
PSM is not just about lechon manok now, its a one stop shop complete restaurant of Filipino food and desserts.  When Chef Pauline invited team DDI and media friends to the launch of PSM bakery, I was delighted to try Chef Pau's yummy breads and cakes. My personal favorites were the Ensaymada and Silvanas. If you live near Tulip Drive, and craves for pandesal, youre one lucky resident from the South. PSM offers hot pandesal 11 in the morning and around 4 pm in the afternoon. I cant wit for the other PSM branches to renovate and reopen just like this one in Tulip Drive Matina.

Dining here is always a tummy filling experience. Happy place indeed. Sharing with you some of my instant favorites.
